Paddy Pimblett dragged off rival after choking him in gym fight to settle dispute

Paddy 'The Baddy' Pimblett remains one of the most defining figures in the UFC.

Now, a few years into his UFC tenure, fans are starting to realize the type of character Paddy Pimblett is, both inside and outside the UFC Octagon.

The Scouser came into the promotion as a fan favorite for his fighting style and witty personality, but after a controversial win over Jared Gordon in 2022, he divided fans with his response.

Despite this, 'The Baddy' put some doubts aside with impressive performances over Bobby Green and Tony Ferguson, cementing himself in the lightweight rankings.

Paddy Pimblett is dragged away from his rival after choking him in a staged gym fight

When he's not in fight camp, Pimblett has been known to bulk up and not look in the best shape he does during matches.

Although he doesn't have a fight booked at the moment, Pimblett remains active in the gym and has used this time off as an opportunity to settle a feud with a rival.

Fellow fighter Dennis Frimpong has been a long-time rival of Pimblett and the two have been feuding online for several months. Frimpong fights with Oktagon MMA and has a professional record of 3-2.

In response to a comment from a fan hoping to see Pimblett on the upcoming UFC London card, Frimpong said: “He won't suit up for the Vegas event, let alone the London one.”

After exchanging personal messages, the two arranged a meeting to settle their feud at Manchester Top Team's Frimpong gym this Saturday morning.

Throughout the clash it was visible that the two fighters were not taking it easy and were sparring and that it was a real fight between two people who don't like each other, with a packed crowd, including Molly McCann, gathered around the mats collected.

Most of the organized gym fight took place on the feet until Pimblett scored a takedown about three minutes later.

From there, 'The Baddy' showed off his wrestling skills and showed the difference in level between a UFC fighter and a fighter who has only five professional fights.

Not long after, Pimblett dropped into a rear-naked choke, resulting in a tag from Dennis 'The Menace'. Chaos then unfolded as Pimblett refused to release the choke, seemingly causing unrest between the members of their teams.

What's next for Paddy Pimblett in the UFC Octagon?

After the post-fight dispute was resolved, Pimblett and Frimpong respectfully hugged each other, seemingly ending their long-running feud.

The UFC recently announced that their return to London will take place on March 22 and the event will be headlined by Leon Edwards vs. Jack Della Maddalena.

Pimblett has long been a fixture at British events and is a big star across the pond. This means there is a chance that the 30-year-old will be booked again to fight at the o2 Arena.

He and fellow star Michael Chandler have constantly teased a possible fight against each other and it's one that makes sense at both stages of their careers.
