Flick frustrated by Barca profligacy in Getafe stalemate

Hansi Flick criticized Barcelona's lack of quality in the final third after his side drew 1-1 with Getafe.

The Blaugrana's winless streak in LaLiga stretched to four games, leaving them five points behind leaders Atletico Madrid, and they could move seven points behind Real Madrid if Carlo Ancelotti's side take on Las Palmas on Sunday beat.

Barcelona dominated large periods of the match at the Estadio Coliseum, with Mauro Arambarri canceling out Jules Kounde's earlier effort.

But despite enjoying 77.6% possession and registering 21 shots with an xG of 2.35, they were unable to beat their opponents in 16th place, leaving Flick frustrated with his side's profligacy.

“We wanted to win and we had chances to win,” he told reporters during his post-match press conference. “I'm very disappointed that we couldn't score more goals.

“You can see what it's like to play here in Getafe. They defend well. We created chances but we weren't on target.

“We have to keep going. I repeat that we had chances, especially in the first half. After that, I think we lacked a little more passing accuracy.

“If only we could score another goal, but I can't do anything now and I have to accept the result,” Flick said.

“But there is still a long way to go and we will fight to the end to win LaLiga. We lost two points but earned one, so we have to look ahead and try to move forward.”

Barca's winless streak at the Estadio Coliseum also continued, with them now failing to win on each of their last five visits in LaLiga.

“There was a lot of emotion in this stadium, in all the actions, in the contacts,” Flick added.

“I've never experienced anything like this before. It's something new for me and I have to get used to it.”
