Joe Rogan discusses how he handled the infamous Derrick Lewis interview

Since he first arrived in the world of the UFC, Joe Rogan has been tasked with talking to some of the world's best fighters right in the wake of their greatest achievements.

In these moments, many a mixed martial artist will issue an epic call or perhaps deliver a profound message to the crowd. But not Derrick Lewis; he does things a little differently.

At UFC 229, inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, 'The Black Beast' landed a truly spectacular right hand to knock Alexander Volkov unconscious.

After the fight, the power puncher bizarrely decided to take off his shorts before delivering one of the most extraordinary lines of all time.

On an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the MMA enthusiast reminisced: “Derrick Lewis just beats this guy and takes his pants off.

He's standing in the octagon with no pants on, and I'm interviewing him saying, “Derrick, congratulations, why did you take your pants off?” He says: 'My balls were hot', I said: 'I understand'.

Derrick is the man. I was ready. My job there is to get the best expression they can give. I never try to make anything funny.”

In his esteemed career, the American has spoken with some of the best talkers in the business, including Conor McGregor and Michael Bisping.

However, in the podcast host's eyes, only one man deserves the title of best UFC fighter to interview.
