Madrid and Barca have both won trophies this season and will face off in a number of more competitions in 2024/2025.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are about to learn their fate in the draw for the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey, a key competition in both teams' bid to win multiple trophies in 2024/25.
The cup matches will take place in the week of February 4, 5 and 6, with the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) yet to announce the exact schedule for the last eight.
What trophies can Real Madrid and Barcelona win this season?
Real Madrid and Barcelona have already enjoyed success this season, although it is Carlo Ancelotti's side who will have more opportunities to add to their tally in the coming months.
Los Blancos can win six trophies in 2024/25: they have already won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, but have missed out on the 2025 Spanish Super Cup, lifted by Barcelona, who emphatically won their Clásico in the final rivals defeated in Saudi Arabia.
It was the first trophy of the campaign for Barça, which hopes to finish with a quadruple.
Clasico rivals face LaLiga and Champions League battle
As always, Madrid and Barça are both expected to win the LaLiga title this season. That said, the Catalans are already seven points behind their Clásico foes, and five points behind Atlético Madrid, who are also in the hunt for the multiple trophies.
Hansi Flick's side are almost through to the last 16 of the Champions League, and Real Madrid will expect to join them even if they may have to go through the play-offs after a stuttering start to the competition phase.
Additionally, Madrid will take part in the new and improved FIFA Club World Cup in the summer of 2025, bringing the total number of competitions they can win this season (and postseason) to six.
The Copa del Rey may not be top of mind on either team's priority list, but it still offers a chance to pit one against the other in the never-ending race for the majority trophies.
