Barcelona agree terms with Manchester United forward for loan deal

Barcelona have made their attack the priority position to strengthen in the January transfer window, with Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford their priority target. However, several things must fall into place before the surgery can be completed.

According to Sport, Barcelona have reached an agreement with Marcus Rashford on the player's loan for the second half of the season. They say Rashford plans to play for Barcelona and will wait until the latter stages of the transfer market to try to do so, despite interest from Borussia Dortmund.

The reason for the postponement is once again Barcelona's salary cap. The Blaugrana need to free up space in their salary cap to absorb Rashford's wages for the second half of the season, despite the return to the '1:1 rule'. The total amount Barcelona must pay is 9 million euros, half of his annual salary, although it is noted that this could be reduced if Barcelona reaches a compromise with Manchester United.
