Chelsea are reportedly considering a move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.
Mail Sport reported how Christopher Nkunku has become frustrated with his lack of playing time and could be moved to Bayern Munich, so the Blues are looking for replacements.
Vlahovic joined from Fiorentina for £62 million in January 2022 and has since scored 53 goals in 125 games.
He reportedly earns just under £10m per season and Juventus, fifth in Serie A, are keen to reduce their wage costs.
The Times reports that Chelsea are considering a bid for him, while they talk about sending defender Gabri Veiga in the opposite direction.
Veiga joined Chelsea from Basel for £12 million this summer but has made just one appearance in the league.
Juventus want him as a replacement for Gleison Bremer, who is absent with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, and The Times claim Chelsea want around £29 million for him.
Signing Vlahovic would certainly be a statement of intent from Chelsea, but omitting Nkunku would mark a sad end to the highly-rated Frenchman's time in English football.
Nkunku was signed from RB Leipzig for £52 million in 2023 and is currently tied to a deal that runs until 2029.
He could now be set for a return to the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, if they are willing to fork over £60million as Chelsea would like.
There is little doubt about Vlahovic's record in front of goal, but he is believed to make a limited contribution to his goals, much like Erling Haaland.
He has scored 12 goals in 24 games this season and is on track to beat last season's total of 18 goals.
The Serbian has just 18 months left on his contract and Juventus appear to be keen to cash in on one of their valuable assets rather than lose him for free in the summer of 2026.
Part of the reason for his possible dismissal is that he does not suit manager Thiago Motta's playing style.
Vlahovic reportedly earns almost £10 million a year and Juventus are unwilling to match that wage in a new contract, although they are willing to sign him on a longer deal, according to la Repubblica.
Earlier this season he clashed with part of the Juventus fanbase when they insulted him after a 2-2 home draw against Venezia and he reacted angrily.
However, he attempted to calm tensions, writing on Instagram: “I understand the frustration with the latest results, and you have every right to express it.
'I have always respected you by giving everything for the shirt, and I thank you for the support you show us every day. Now it is important to stick together, support the team and start again, united.”
The Serbian international has previously attracted interest from the Premier League after being linked with Arsenal. TalkSPORT claimed
