Prince William was spotted in the stands watching Aston Villa's Champions League defeat to Monaco in the Principality on Tuesday evening.
The boyhood Villa fan has been a fixture throughout his side's European trials, making their historic return to the competition for the first time against Bayern Munich at Villa Park at the start of the season.
The Prince of Wales was pleased to admit he had lost his voice cheering on the Birmingham club's first home match in Europe's elite competition for 41 years, as he noted he 'couldn't quite believe' the Unai Emery passed. the 1-0 victory.
The 42-year-old is also a regular – schedule permitting – at Bodymoor Heath training ground and has been caught chatting to Emery and his players.
But the prince was a bit more nervous on the French Riviera on Tuesday evening, when Emery's team fell behind 1-0 after just eight minutes.
Prince William had made the short trip across the Channel just hours after visiting Centrepoint's Ealing service and meeting people supported by the homeless charity.
The prince was also snapped in the stands by an overwhelmed fan, who shared the candid photo on social media with the caption: 'Say, what do you think the chances are that in your entire life you'll come face to face with Prince William, just inches away from him? (Union flag emoji, crown emoji)
'I admit I can't get over it (heart eye emoji)
'(thanks for this emotion @AS_Monaco)'.
Prince Albert II was also in attendance at the Stade Louis II, supporting his local side in the company of the club's president and owner Dmitry Rybolovlev.
But as well as traveling to support Villa in Europe, the future king has also mingled with fans at top matches.
Last week, Prince William bought a round for Villa fans waiting for matchday at a Wetherspoons near Birmingham New Street Station, ahead of their Premier League match against Everton.
He bought a round of beer for eight Villa fans and drank a pint of Bulmers cider. He stayed there for about half an hour before catching the train back to London.
Steve Jones, 56, a Villa fan for 35 years, said: 'We were contacted by the club and said that Prince William wanted to meet a delegation of Villa fans while he was in Birmingham as he wanted to keep up to date with everything what was going on in Birmingham. Villa.
'He was fantastic. I was quite surprised at how involved he was in the club, his interest. He is not a fan of nice weather. He really loves the club with passion.
'We talked about the club, the transfers, the upcoming Champions League trip to Monaco and everything to do with Aston Villa. He asked a lot of questions – he has a good interest.
'It was 95 percent of the conversations about Villa, because that was our shared interest, but a little bit about his family. Young George is a Villa fan, but he didn't want all three of them to be Villa fans.
'He was hugely interested and seemed like a very genuine man, and all he wanted to do was talk about Villa.
'He said he was hopeful of beating Everton tonight and would be watching, but he was wary of the new manager syndrome, or rather the old manager syndrome.'
The prince got his wish, with Villa running out 1-0 winners thanks to a 51st-minute goal from Ollie Watkins.
Jones also revealed that Prince William is a regular on Villa fan forums in a bid to 'keep up to date with Villa gossip'.
“He has different names and posts there because that gives him a sense of what's going on and what the opinion is,” Jones added.
