Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre almost missed a seminar after a crazy night out

After a tense war at the most historic location in the world, Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre did more than enough to earn each other's respect.

After two explosive rounds, the Canadian produced a brutal left hook before locking in a rear choke and walking away with his opponent's world middleweight title.

In the years since, the pair have bonded, once having a crazy night out the day before giving a seminar at the For The Love of MMA convention in England.

The legends drank so much that Bisping forgot why he returned to his homeland in the first place.

In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, 'The Count' explains: “He is an absolute legend. We were in Manchester a few years ago for a seminar at an Expo. Man, what a fun night we had. What a laugh. It was incredible.

“We were sitting in a restaurant and there were some players from Birmingham City Football Club, and I had no idea who they were because I don't follow football, but Daz Morris, my coach, said: 'There are some players from Birmingham City'. There were also some Manchester City players.

“They said me and Georges St-Pierre were sitting together in the corner of the restaurant, and we didn't know who they were. What a laugh.

“I was a bit drunk, but so was Georges. I'm going to bed, it was a rough night, I'm not going to lie, I was pulled out of my mind. I don't know what I drank, but it went to my head.

'Anyway, we're in the same hotel and we're being picked up to go to the Expo. We both flew from North America, he's from Canada and I'm from California, so jet lag is a thing too.

“So I'm in bed and I'm unconscious. Then the hotel room telephone rings loudly. I wake up all nervous and I answer the phone and it's Georges St-Pierre. “Michael, we have to go, the car is here, you have to come.”

“I'm like, 'Who is this?' He says, 'What do you mean, who is this? It's George. Come on, we have to go, the car is here.'

“I'm like, 'Where to go?' He says, “The damn seminar.” I'm like, 'What seminar? Where am I now'? Then I slowly woke up; I'm like, 'Oh damn, five minutes Georges, I'll be down in a minute'.”

Georges St-Pierre credits boxing legend for helping him beat Michael Bisping as he offers mid-fight advice

Although the UFC Hall of Famers are good friends now, at the time of their matchup they were anything but, with the athletes trading brutal verbal blows in the lead-up to their fight.

The animosity between them continued into the fight, with each man firing vicious shots.

After a great first round of 'GSP', the Englishman came back to win the second segment.

With the fight teetering on a razor's edge, St-Pierre received some integral advice from a boxing legend, which he used to score that all-important knockdown.
