Rafael Leao struck as Milan won the Champions League match 1-0 on Wednesday evening.
Conceicao said afterwards: “It was a positive result, but we still have a lot of work to do.
“We knew Girona are dangerous on the ball, our pressing wasn't brilliant, but we still didn't allow them much in the first half. After picking up the pace and making more vertical passes, we created opportunities to score several goals in the first half.
“I think after the break we had more fear of getting an equalizer than the desire to score a second. This is one of the things we want to improve here.”
He also said: “We didn't concede a goal, but as a team we have to be much more solid and compact. There are times when we don't have the ball and everyone has to think the same way, that's what makes a team in my eyes.
“It's the first time we've kept a clean sheet, but it has to become a habit because this is the foundation on which you build success. Conceding zero goals is the only way to guarantee points!
“The team is working on what I want, I realize it's not easy, I'm trying to feel the heartbeat of the side and I saw that they were having a bit of trouble, so I moved up to five at the back. At this moment, with this atmosphere and situation, the result was too important.”
