Pep Guardiola confirms ANOTHER Man City injury – Ruben Dias ‘didn’t feel good’

Pep Guardiola has confirmed another injury setback for Ruben Dias after the defender was substituted in Man City's latest Champions League defeat.

Dias had only returned to City's matchday squad for the 6-0 defeat to Ipswich last weekend, having previously missed six games in all competitions with an unconfirmed injury.

However, the central defender felt uncomfortable on the bench when he was hooked by Guardiola during half-time on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes.

City's participation in the Champions League is now on a razor's edge after PSG came from two goals down to record an emphatic 4-2 victory that leaves the reigning English champions in the elimination zone.

Next week's home match against Club Brugge now takes on even greater importance as City need a win to guarantee themselves a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

They may have to make do without Dias as Guardiola confirmed that the Portuguese defender told him during the half-time team talk that he was struggling throughout the first half.

Guardiola explained that Dias requested a substitution, with youngster Rico Lewis coming into his place in a makeshift role at left-back, while Josko Gvardiol moved into the middle of defence.

Guardiola revealed Dias' latest injury complaint, summing up after the match: 'He asked to be replaced because he wasn't feeling well.'

Further assessments will now be carried out to determine the severity of Dias' complaint once City return to Manchester with Guardiola and supporters hoping it is only a minor issue ahead of the upcoming matches.

Chelsea travel to the Etihad on Saturday with the hosts dealing with an ever-growing injury list as Matheus Nunes once again replaces the defense against PSG.

Meanwhile, Guardiola admitted that his side are struggling to eliminate teams in the usual manner after taking the lead in matches because players are nervous when in possession of the ball.

“Because to play you have to play and we couldn't do that,” he told TNT Sports after City's latest defeat.

'To defend the result you have to get the ball and we didn't have that. You have to defend better and that is why it is more difficult,” he added.
