Marcus Rashford watched Manchester United at Old Trafford from the stands as speculation swirled around his future.
Taking to Instagram, Rashford posted his take on the procedure, accompanied by the caption “Come on the boys.”
His post comes as he trained with his Manchester United team in Carrington on Wednesday ahead of the Red Devils' Europa League match at home to Rangers.
He was seen smiling during group exercises, while other shots showed his focus on the session.
Borussia Dortmund are also rumored to be interested in signing Rashford, who has fallen out of favor under Ruben Amorim.
Rashford's representatives spoke to Barcelona director Deco on Tuesday, with the Catalans currently in competition with Borussia Dortmund to sign him on loan until the end of the season.
However, Dortmund are seeing an increasingly unlikely destination for Manchester United's willing striker with the German club no longer able to secure his services.
They were one of the clubs in talks to sign the player, but his £350,000-a-week wages have all but ruled the German side out of contention for his signature, even in the short term.
The side had taken the lead among contenders to land the striker after making a concerted effort to convince him, with Sebastian Kehl and Sven Mislintat believing he could have the same impact as Jadon Sancho last season.
United wanted a deal structured in the same way, with loan fees and performance-related bonuses.
Dortmund's situation is further complicated by the dismissal of head coach Nuri Sahin following the team's defeat to Bologna in the Champions League on Tuesday evening – their fourth defeat in a row.
If costs come down, the deal could still be revised in the final stages of the period. Dortmund are also interested in Brentford's Kevin Schade, but he is valued at £45 million.
Mail Sport reported earlier this month that Barcelona have held meetings with Rashford's entourage, with several European clubs monitoring the forward.
Rashford admitted in December that he was 'ready for a new challenge' away from Man United, sparking a scramble for his signature.
It is believed that Barcelona have always preferred Rashford, but given his £350,000-a-week wages they would have to negotiate the financial burden of a loan deal.
And further discussions have now taken place between Rashford's representatives and officials from the Catalan club, including sporting director Deco.
The talks took place in Lisbon, with Barcelona playing Benfica in the Champions League in the Portuguese city on Tuesday evening.
