Chris Wood signs two-year Nottingham Forest contract extension

Chris Wood has signed a new two -year contract extension with Nottingham Forest after an inspired season so far.

The striker of Nieuw -Zeeland has scored 14 goals in 22 Premier League outings this campaign and has written conditions that will keep him on the city until 2027.

Wood would initially run out of contract in June, but follows the Midden-Back Murillo in the agreement with new conditions.

The New -Zeelandse International told Sky Sports News: “You can see the dream and ambition that this club has.

“We had a good start to the season, now halfway. We have much more to reach and strive for.

“I think this club, ownership, staff, players and fans have a lot they want to achieve to grow in a great club again.

“I am confident and there has been a lot of conviction from the manager to my teammates.”

Only Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak have scored more goals this period than wood in the top flight.

The kiwi has made fewer shots than anyone in the top 10 goal scorers and converted more of his shots into goals (34 percent) than one of those players.

He said: “Scoring goals is the greatest position for a striker.

“You still have to do the hard work for the team and ensure that your other teammates do well at the same time, but it is a great position when you score.”
