Almost a week away from his planned UFC 311 head event against Islam Makhachev, Arman Tsarukyan described the 20-hour test that led him to withdraw.
Only one day after his planned main event at UFC 311 against Islam Makhachev, Tsarukyan withdrew shockingly from the fight due to a back injury.
After the event in which Makhachev defended his title against Renato Moicano in a late replacement fight, UFC CEO Dana White revealed that Tsarukyan will not get the next title candidate.
Although White's comments came as a considerable surprise for the UFC fan base, Tsarukyan agreed with White and instead outlined the fight he then wanted.

Tsarukyan explains the horrible test that led to his withdrawal from UFC 311
Arman Tsarukyan was advertised as the biggest threat to Makhakev's title government, but unfortunately he missed his chance.
And with that, now almost a week after his withdrawal from UFC 311, the 28-year-old explained exactly what happened during the 20-hour trial.
“Wednesday I had my evening training and when I went to sleep, I started to feel my lower back and I couldn't sleep all night and I woke up, maybe I slept for about 30 minutes and I felt a crazy pain in my lower back,” ” Tsarukyan told The Jaxxon Podcast.
“I didn't train that (next) morning and we said we were going to wait until the evening and see how my back would feel and then we went to the press conference, after the press conference it was good and I started to reduce my weight.
“During my weight decrease, my lower back (better to feel) started when I was on my bike. I lay down to lose weight, the weight was good, it went well, and then we called the doctor to come and have a look.
“I went to sleep with 6 pounds too much and I wanted to cut it off in the morning, but I couldn't sleep all night (again) … I couldn't even move on my back and at five in the morning I called and called and Said I could do it “I didn't lose weight because I couldn't move,” he said.
The Armenian further explained that he lay on his back for almost twenty hours, was unable to move and had no choice but to retire from the battle.
What is the future for Arman Tsarukyan after UFC 311?
'Ahalkalakets' stated that he would like to meet Charles Oliveira again in a fight of five laps to determine who the next contender is. In response to the recent comments from Makhachev's manager about the UFC plan for the next fight of Islam, that could flourish.
Oliveira had a similar situation like Tsarukyan when he withdrew from his UFC 294 fight against Makhachev and then lost his title shot.
Now that 'Do Bronx' has only won Michael Chandler since his UFC 300 loss against Tsaruykan, he may need a victory himself before he is eligible for a new opportunity.
