Real Madrid ‘target Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez with shock swap deal’

Real Madrid are reportedly looking to poach Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea by offering a bad star in return.

Carlo Ancelotti has come under pressure following a disappointing Champions League season and a 5-2 thrashing of Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup earlier this month.

Spanish side Relevo claimed that Ancelotti is at risk of dismissal, that some team leaders were frustrated with his decisions and that the dressing room has become fragmented.

Ancelotti hopes the signing of Fernandez, who starts regularly under Enzo Maresca, can revive their ailing European hopes and put the LaLiga title beyond doubt.

Madrid is willing to offer midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni in exchange for the Argentine star, DIRECTV Sports reports.

As the plan currently stands, the deal would not include any cash.

The 24-year-old Tchouameni is under fire for his performances this season.

When his name was read out in the starting line-up for a match against Celta Vigo earlier this month, fans at the Santiago Bernabeu cheered and whistled.

He was also booed when he came out to warm up, although there were fewer fans to cause a commotion at the time.

The Frenchman has had to play out of position this season due to Real Madrid's defensive injury crisis.

He has been forced to move to centre-back instead of midfield at times, as Eder Militao is out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury.

However, there is no doubt that a manager who can play Tchouameni could have one of the best midfielders in Europe.

Following the 2020/21 season, he was named Ligue 1's Young Player of the Year thanks to his stunning form in Monaco.

The following summer he signed for Madrid in an £85 million deal after rejecting interest from Liverpool and PSG.

Since then, he has made 113 appearances for Los Blancos and won eight trophies.
