Usman Nurmagomedov admitted that he got the struggle of his life when he defeated Paul Hughes by majority decision to establish a bitter feud in Dubai.
For the last time, a Bellator world title was put at stake when Hughes Nurmagomedov challenged his lightweight belt. An atmosphere that is suitable for such an opportunity caught up with the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, which was reported as sold out by PFL officials.

About halfway through the fourth, a large right hand of Hughes Nurmagomedov seemed to hurt, and he succeeded it with a kick in the middle of a Takedown attempt. While Hughes went for a risky combination to start the fifth, Nurmagomedov brought him down again, took his back and fired knees. Eventually the couple went the distance, with the champion about enough in the eyes of two jury members 48-46 while the other scored a draw.
