The first Real Madrid Hat-Trick by Kylian Mbappe clearly moved Los Blancos four points on the LaLala summit after they defeated 10-man Real Valladolid 3-0.
The side of Carlo Ancelotti benefited from the slip-up of Atletico Madrid earlier in the day after they were kept at home by Villarreal, while Barcelona will be in action against Valencia on Sunday.
Valladolid, however, started the clearer of the two parties in the municipal Jose Zorrilla of Estadio, in which Thibaut Courtois David Torres denied with a big stop.
But Madrid hit the front in the 30th minute when Mbappe combined brilliantly with Jude Bellingham before he curled the ball past Karl Hein and in the right corner.
Los Blancos and Mbappe then doubled their count 12 minutes after the break, the Frenchman produced a copy of his opening goal after collecting Rodrygo's Pass.
Things were exacerbated late for Soil Club Valladolid late when Mario Martin received his second yellow card for a bad challenge at Bellingham in the penalty area.
The subsequent Spot-Kick was explicitly sent by Mbappe, whose stuttering run-up on the wrong direction sent in and concluded the score in the meeting.
Mbappe has now scored 22 goals in his first 32 games of a season for Madrid, something that only Cristiano Ronaldo (five times) and Karim Benzema (four times) have been managed since the 2013-14 campaign.
Data Debrief: Mbappe continues to silence his critics
Mbappe had endured a difficult start of life in the Bernabeu, with many suggested that he had trouble adapting to the Spanish capital. Since then, however, he has put those worries in bed.
Since the beginning of December 2024, only Alexander Isak (14) of Newcastle United has scored more goals than Mbappe (13) in all competitions between players from Europe's top five competitions.
The Frenchman earned his girl's knit for Madrid in just his 19th Laliga match for them. In the 21st century in the competition, only Ruud van Nistelrooy (two games), Gareth Bale (nine games) and Emmanuel Adebayor (14th game) did as faster as Los Blancos player (also 19 for Ronaldo Nazario).
Of the 22 goals, Mbappe scored in all competitions for Madrid, eight of them are thanks to four assists of Bellingham and Vier from Rodrygo, more than all other teammates (three from Vinicius Junior).
