Liverpool again took a step forward in their search to win the Premier League title, when the Arne Slot team won a comfortable 4-1 win over warrior Ipswich.
Dominik Szoboszlai opened the score for Liverpool with a well-placed finish in the eleventh minute, before Mohamed Salah struck with his hundredth Premier League goal on Anfield.
Cody Gakpo struck in every half while the leader assured himself of the three points, while Jacob Greaves scored comfort for the visitors in the injury time of the second half.
The victory ensured that Liverpool kept their lead of six points at the top of the table, while Ipswich remained in the bottom three.
Lewis Steele from Mail Sport assesses how every Liverpool star performed.
Liverpool (4-2-3-1):
Alisson-6
Could have taken a lounger and read a few chapters from a book while he smoked a pipe for most of the competition. A rescue was only carried out after the hour. Will be angry if he sees the zero in the 90th minute.
Trent Alexander -Arnold – 7
Wonderful pass for Gakpo's second goal in the second half. Combines so well with Salah along his flank and, like Alisson, had little to do defensively.
Ibrahima Konate – 7.5
Enjoyed the fight with the lanky striker Liam Delap and removed all threats of danger. But the highlight of his match was the assist to the opener of Liverpool, who opened the midfield and the defense of Ipswich.
Virgil van Dijk-7
Three hundred games now for Van Dijk and this will have been one of the easiest. Commander as always.
Andy Robertson-8
The leader of Scotland has received a lot of criticism from the fans in recent months, but although he will not get the headlines, this was an excellent display. His popping tackle took care of the first goal of the Reds and he deliberately attacked.
Ryan Gravenberch – 7.5
It makes everything look so easy and is a certainty at this stage for the Premier League team of the season. Played a nice ball to Szoboszlai for the third place of Liverpool.
Alexis Macallister-7
A constant livewire in midfield and hardly put a foot wrong on or next to the ball. Got a standing ovation when he was changed late.
Mohammed Salah – 7.5
Nice touch and finish to bring the score to 2-0 for Liverpool. Had a quieter afternoon than normal, but is now ahead of Thierry Henry in the Premier League scoring lists of all time-with Frank Lampard and Sergio Aguero as next in his sights.
Dominik Szoboszlai – 8.5
Excellent turn to avoid Dara O'Shea for the first goal and a sublime finish. He also set the third and put over a top performance overall. It is finally like the player who thought to buy Liverpool.
Cody Gakpo – 8.5 (MOTM)
After two minutes of seeing a shot sailing over the bar, but then no foot set wrong. At the right time in the right place for his two goals and a nice assist at the goal of Salah. Man of the match for the flying Dutchman.
Luis Diaz-7
May may feel offended because he was not on the score form with his co-attackers, but Diaz still set good shifts and caused Ipswich problems all the time.
