Joshua Kimmich offers ‘update’ over Real Madrid transfer links

Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich has spoken about transfer rumors that associate him in 2025 with a free transfer to Real Madrid.

As part of a dramatic switch to El Clásico, Barcelona seems to have cooled their interest in the German international, with the intervention of Los Blancos.

Despite their frustration when securing a deal for Kimmich's teammate Alphonso Davies, Real Madrid was not put off, now that there is another free transfer on the agenda.

It seems likely that Davies will extend his stay in Bavaria, but the future of Kimmich in the Allianz Arena is doubtful.

He is now in the last six months of his current contract and can open free transfer discussions, with a view to a summer relocation away from the Bundesliga giants.

Kimmich previously confirmed that he is 'open' for an extension, where it is up to the club to open formal conversations with the 29-year-old.

Because no decision in which direction is expected until the transfer period closes in January, Kimmich will continue to work for the Bayern case, while aiming for titles in the coming months.

Kimmich was asked about the situation after the 2-1 victory in the Bundesliga in Freiburg last weekend and he gave a powerful answer to the speculations.

“To be honest, I can't come here every three days to give an update. There will be an update at some point, but I am not going to comment on it every three days, “said Diario AS quotes.

Real Madrid is expected to concentrate strongly on free transfers this summer, where Kimmich replaces Davies on the list, in addition to a consistent urge to Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.

If a deal is closed for the English right back, that could affect the need for Kimmich, but the champions of La Liga will keep both possibilities open until there is an update from Merseyside and Munich.
