Barcelona fired a renewed LA Liga title to their rivals when they dismantled Valencia with five goals in the first half in Catalonia.
La Liga 2024/2025
7-1

Competition report
La Blaugrana scored five goals in the week, via a sensational late UEFA Champions League victory on Benfica, but they defeated that score and defeated Los Che 7-1.
The damage was caused in a ruthless way before the break when Frenkie de Jong scored his first home goal of the season, followed by hits by Ferran Torres and Raphinha, before the 15th minute.
De Jong and Torres both justified Hansi Flick's decision to move them to basics, and that pattern was continued by a new face when the double of Fermin Lopez made it five.
Despite the full dominance of Barcelona, there was still time for shock in the initial phase, when Wojciech Szczesny got a penalty for the second consecutive match, after which the decision was destroyed by the VAR due to an earlier violation.
While the home team took it easy after the restart, Valencia fought hard for comfort, and Hugo Duro stabbed the ball for the hour for some pride.
However, there was even more of the hosts when Robert Lewandowski left the bank to score a sixth goal and Cesar Tarrega's own goal made seven.
Despite their incredible victory, Barcelona is still in third place in De La Liga after tonight, and they are three points behind Atletico Madrid and seven points on table topers Real Madrid.
Now that a place in the last sixteen of the UEFA Champions League has already been secured, Flick can focus his resources on the Domestic Affairs in the coming weeks, until the knockout rounds start in mid-February.
Next weekend they will host Alaves, before Valencia meets again in the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey on 6 February in the Estadio Mestalla.
