Rio Ferdinand has revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson would get “Intel” that current managers would not get today.
The former Star of Manchester United played among the legendary manager between 2002 and 2013.
Ferdinand, 46, has suggested that the Scot would have an enormous amount of people in Manchester who would give him information about the players.
He claimed that Ferguson, 83, would know “everything” that the players were planning when they left the field and the training field.
He said to the BBC: “Everyone in the city wanted to talk to him.
“Everyone in the city tells him what the players drink or what they eat.
“When they are out and what they do. He knew everything.
“Managers don't get that info these days, that Intel.”
Ferdinand also revealed that people who worked for the players would also feed “Intel” with Ferguson.
He compared the sources of knowledge with Ferguson with “Mafia-Type things” without the players knowing about it.

He continued: “You had night club managers who came in, took photos and submitted the coupons of players' accounts.
'Like, who will get that now? Who runs such a city?
“If you had a party at your home, he would know.
'Because your driver or security told him and they work for you.
“But they also work for him, what's going on?
“It was almost like things about the Mafia type. It was just and you had to learn quickly, because if you didn't, you would be gone.”
Ferguson enjoyed great success during his 27-year-old reign at Old Trafford.
He won 13 Premier League titles and the Champions League twice and nine domestic cups with the Red Devils.
In the meantime, Ferdinand is now working as an expert and often appears on broadcasters that cover man United.
During the Europa League victory in Rangers, he tweeted during the game to hit a non -authority goal.
