Ferdinand believes there is ‘no way back’ for Rashford at Man Utd

Rio Ferdinand has warned Marcus Rashford that there is “no way back for him” in Manchester United after the comments by Ruben Amorim about his professionalism.

Rashford cannot be seen in front of United since a 3-2 defeat in Old Trafford to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on December 12.

And after the 1-0 victory of the Red Devils over Fulham last Sunday, Amorim suggested that he would rather have goalkeeper coach Jorge Vital in his team than Rashford.

The comments came after Rashford had started strong after the appointment of Amorim and three goals in six performances among him won in all competitions.

Since then, Rashford has expressed his wish to find a new challenge away from Old Trafford, and former United defender Ferdinand believes that this month is the right time to continue.

“When I was the player, the manager said that, my heart, my pride, my ego – it's a shame,” Ferdinand said on his Rio Giftseube channel.

“For someone to ask your application, to ask you that you are 100 percent giving the team, says that you have no trouble and take shortcuts, that is a damn comment.

“After that there is no way back for Marcus. If he returns, it means that other players can get their foot off the gas and have a way back in the team and take shortcuts.”

Rashford has been with United since 2005 and burst on stage 10 years later with two goals in the Europa League against Midtjylland during his debut in the first team.

The International of England has since made 426 performances for the Red Devils in all competitions, with 138 goals and on another 63 assists.

Ferdinand knows the quality that Rashford has, but thought that the 27-year-old would have made a public statement if Amorim's latest comments were incorrect.

“For me, if it is not true, I will burn all the weapons from the burning. I hold a press conference and say:” I didn't talk about me, “Ferdinand said.

“You only do that if you are 100 percent sure that nobody can say that you are taking shortcuts.

“We are in an era where you have the opportunity to communicate directly with the fans, so that the story is not twisted.

“I would like to sit down from Marcus and look into his eyes and see if he could say that. If you can't, you have to look at yourself.”
