Kieran Tierney: Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers confirms Arsenal defender to re-join Hoops in summer

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney will join the club again this summer after concluding a pre-contract.

The 27-year-old is in the last six months of his Gunners contract and returns to Glasgow at the end of the season.

The Scotland International was told that he can leave the North London club by Arsenal -Baas Mikel Arteta.

Tierney missed the first three months of the season with a serious hamstring injury picked up while playing for Scotland at Euro 2024 and has only made five performances for the Gunners since his return to Fitness.

Speaking for Celtic's Champions League -similar to Aston Villa, Rodgers said about Tierney's movement: “Ideally, it would do that [happen in January] But he is still an Arsenal player at the moment.

“I think everyone is agreed who will certainly take place in the summer. If we can do it in advance, then it is great.”

Rodgers also confirmed that Alex Valle is in Barcelona in Barcelona and will not return to the Scottish Premiership Club, where Sky reports in Italy that he is set to become a member of Serie A Side Como.
