Alex Pereira has publicly challenged Jon Jones for a blockbuster confrontation between two of the largest stars in the UFC history.

The pair of legendary hunters is currently on the two heaviest divisions in the promotion.

Blessed with a thunderous left hook, the Brazilian has the power to finish everyone on which he lands.

With that in mind, although he may not have the struggling bravery to compete with Jon Jones in the grab department, the fact that the Brazilian could switch the lights of the icon with one shot would still be enough to fans on the edge of to leave their seats.

In the conviction that he could in fact make contact with that most important shot, Pereira appeared on the Ariel Helwani show, where he announced the world that the American is the man he wants afterwards.

The 37-year-old explained: 'I am the champion, I want to fight the champion. Let's argue with Jon Jones; This is the fight I want in heavyweight.

When asked whether it could happen this year, Pereira replied: “Everything is possible.”

Although a rivalry with Jones would be fantastic, it is unlikely that it is as intense as that of Pereira that is shared with Israel Adesanya.
