The future of Jhon Duran has become one of the greatest stories towards the end of the January transfer window and speculation about an exit of Aston Villa before the Deadline Day only increases.
West Ham has already had an £ 57 million offer to beat back for the 21-year-old who is in front this season surprised for Villa, although he has not always had enough playing time by Boss Unai Emery.
Duran has 12 goals in all competitions, but has shown his interest for the team and the clinical eye for the goal when the bank ends up with 1.06 goals per 90 – the highest in the Premier League.
Duran has generated a lot of interest and more Vrijers step forward in the hope of testing the determination of Villa. With less than a week until the Deadline of the Transfer of January, Mirror Football breaks the transfera of the Colombians.
Villas anger at West Ham Bid
Aston Villa initially stated that Duran was not for sale and was not too happy after West Ham pushed their luck with an £ 57 million bid.
Mirror Football reported last week how West Ham had followed their failed attempt to attract Duran to the London Stadium last summer before she struck their second attempt.
West Ham needs a new No. 9 after losing Mikhail Antonio to injuries after a car accident, and saw Duran as the perfect man who fitted in the account.
It is understood that Emery refused to take West Ham's offer seriously because it was so far from their asking price.
It had irritated figures in Villa Park in the midst of a feeling that the news was leaked on the eve of their crucial Champions League collision in Monaco, which they lost 1-0, and added an extra lead to their Premier League match against The hammers the next week.
Al-Nassr to make a huge offer
With West Ham that Villa cannot seduce, Al-Nassr now looks like the favorites to win Duran's signature while preparing a mega offer with around £ 80 million.
L'Equipe has already reported that Villa was willing to accept a large selection of the Saudi Pro League club, who want to splash the money and invest in the team to please Captain and Talisman Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo has recently expanded his deal on condition that Al-Nassr makes more controversial signing sessions and remains competitive to help the club win trophies.
Al-Nassr also looks at the victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen while they want to bring in a striker that can add to the regular delivery of goals that Ronaldo often offers.
If Duran participates, he will make contact with a series of famous faces-including ex-liverpool star Sadio Mane, former Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte and ex-internal midfielder Marcelo Brozovic Milan.
Duran told himself to concentrate on football
This Saga brought some tension with it after Emery was repeatedly asked about the future of Duran and the impact it had on the field.
Duran has not started a competition since the end of December, where Watkins is still a very first choice, but speculation of transfer is always a distraction and never welcomed by a Premier League manager. Emery is no different and wants all his players to fight, regardless of what is talking about on social media bulbs.
Speculation about the future of Duran was especially widespread for their 1-1 draw against West Ham, where the hammers set their bid before the game, and the Spaniard warned the attacker to concentrate on his football.
“It is not only with Jhon Duran, but also other players,” he said prior to the confrontation. “I concentrate a lot on how we think and plan every match and every player focuses on it. There may be some rumors to leave here or come here from other teams. Each team is in the same situation.
“The group we have here must now be professional and responsible and play, focused on every match. We don't know exactly until the last day of the transfer star how many players we can change in this team – but on Sunday, we are here with The players we have and 100% focused on the game “
All signs point to Emery, which is not fully sold on Duran, indicated by his perseverance with Watkins, which this season has delivered with 10 Premier League goals.
The couple has shown that they are struggling to play together, with the working speed of Watkins a better suited for Emery's system. Perhaps this is the reason why Villa is finally ready to give up this month from Duran.
CARRAGHER's Advice
Speaking before the game with West Ham on Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher admitted that he would send away from his usual policy and sell the younger striker in Duran to get more out of Watkins.
“I would sell Jhon Duran, and it probably goes against the grain of what most football clubs would do,” explained the Liverpool defender.
“Normally in that situation you would probably sell the older, Ollie Watkins, because you think this man will be here for a long time, but I would try to get an extra 10 million of it.”
He added: “I don't think you get the best out of Ollie Watkins, every game knows because he will be unhappy.
“I just think you can sometimes have players who are almost too good in the same position. A player must know that he is the man. I think that Ollie Watkins is for me.”
