Liverpool does not intend to renounce striker Darwin Nunez, so that potential vooragers al-Nassr focus their attention on other goals.
Nunez, who came to the Reds in 2022 in a large movement of Benfica, fell under Arne Slot this season. However, he was still demolished with important goals, not least a match -winning brace gone in Brentford.
Saudi side Al-Nassr explored a January relocation for the International Uruguay, but have now set their sights elsewhere. Aston Villa -striker Jhon Duran is on their list, together with Bayer Leverkusen -star Victor Boniface.
Things can still change in the summer, with which Al-Nassr will also be at an intersection with top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo. For now, however, it has been claimed that Nunez is not going anywhere.
According to athletics, Al-Nassr has a verbal agreement on a Boniface movement. The Nigeria International, who helped Leverkusen to win the Bundesliga last season, has six goals from 10 league games.
Duran is also an option if the Saudi Pro League side eventually leaves the 24-year-old. Villa wants £ 80 million for the Colombians and made a bid from West Ham back in the window earlier.
Al-Nassr raised money this month and cleaned up space in their team by selling Seko Fofana to Rennes and let Anderson Talisca come to Fenerbahce. Brazilian playmaker Talisca, 30, had scored 62 goals in 78 Saudi Pro League performances.
The same publication reports that NUNEZ is considered an important part of the trophy-chasing team of Arne Slot, while he also pops up that there will be an important market for the 25-year-old if he is made available in the summer. He has been appointed in Slot's 21-man team for the Champions League match on Wednesday against PSV Eindhoven, even though the manager leaves Senior stars, including Mohamed Salah at home.
Liverpool is already guaranteed first or second in the competition phase. Only Barcelona can catch the red, but a point in Eindhoven would be enough to ensure that the top of the pile is finished.
“It is your perception, not mine that he is struggling for trust,” said Slot about Nunez for the game of Brentford. “He was involved in goals against Accrington and Fulham and he scored V Southampton. So for me it's the life of a striker, sometimes you score, sometimes not and he didn't start every week.
“We score every match except Spurs in the Cup, so that tells me that we have goals in our team. Darwin will score as he has already done. I don't see him struggling as much when you see it.”
