Israel Adesanya’s comeback card takes another hit as second UFC Saudi Arabia fight is called off

UFC Saudi Aarabia has taken another hit because a second fight was canceled just a few days before the planned event.

Fortunately, the most important and co-main events of UFC Riyadh remain intact, because Israel Adesanya fights Nassourdine Imavov and Sharabutdin Magomedov makes it out with Michael 'Venom' page. Adesanya has been making his first non-title combat performance since 2019 while he wants to recover from his very first back-to-back losing in professional MMA.

In the meantime, two undercard fights will be officially deleted.

Bolaji Oki's withdrawal forces Second Fight Cancellation for UFC Saudi -Arabia

An official statement from the UFC on January 29 showed that lightweight Jager Bolaji Oki has withdrawn with an injury, so that his fight with Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady is canceled.

Oki hoped to return from his first UFC defeat through the hands of Chris Duncan in September 2024. 'De Zulu Warrior' is a graduate of Dana White Contender Series (DWCS) who looks promising if he can fight regularly.

Al-Selwady also comes from DWCS, where he disturbed the opportunities by beating Cage Warriors lightweight champion George Hardwick. He debuted in the UFC in March 2024, with a knockout loss for Loik Radzhabov in the third round.

Oki-Al-Selwady marks the second canceled fight for UFC Saudi Arabia, because Andre Muniz vs. Ikram Aliskerov was drawn because of Muniz travelomplications. Aliskerov has now had six combat hazards in nine planned fights in the UFC.

UFC Saudi -Arabia continues with 11 fights

With the majority of the star power intact, UFC Saudi Arabia continues with an 11-field card (subject to change).
