Jonathan transfer twist as £10m offer made after impressive Liverpool audition

Premier League target Jonathan David has been the subject of a bid in a vast price if he has entered the last few months of his contract, has been claimed.

Lille -striker David is connected to Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle, who can all pick it up for nothing in the summer. However, a public rival tried to appear the trio.

David, a Canadian international, has been Lille's star man since he came to Ghent in 2020. He helped them to win Ligue 1 in his first season and scored 102 goals in all competitions for Les Dogues.

About 18 of them have arrived this season, 11 in the competition and seven in Europe, while the Bruno Genesio team insists on Champions League qualification. Loading their top scorer in January would be a blow to that hope, and it sounds like the range of £ 10 million on the table is not almost enough.

According to Chroniclelive, Lille quickly saved that opening offer. The President of the Club, Olivier Letaing, would believe that the windfall of £ 40 million for another Champions League season makes it worthwhile to hold David until the summer.

Earlier in the season, David hinted his last in France this season, but he did not cast too much light on his next destination. “What am I waiting for? I think it's easier to say now. I am in the last year of my contract,” said the 25-year-old.

“In the end my contract will run out. So then we will see. We will see what will happen next year. I am open to everything. I think the Premier League will be clearly considered to be one of the best competitions in the world.

The attacker had the opportunity to show what he can offer against Premier League opposition when Lille faced Liverpool in the Champions League of this season. He made an impression on a personal level and briefly brought his his level, but Liverpool finished narrow 2-1 victors.

The goal of David in Anfield was his fifth during the competition phase, so he was the same with England and Bayern Munich star Harry Kane. He also scored twice in qualifying when Lille came through matches against Fenerbahce and Slavia Prague to book their place in the actual competition.

Victory Home at Feyenoord In the last group match, Lille holds a chance on a top-mind finish and an automatic place in the round of 16. They are still guaranteed a play-off berth in the worst case, their European adventure continues after January.

If they return to the Champions League in the next term, they must win this year's competition or improve their domestic classification. The Genesio side is fifth in Ligue 1 at the time of writing, albeit only two points of drift from Monaco in third place.
