Girona lead race to sign ex-Barcelona midfielder

Girona would like to add to their team for the second half of the season, while watching a return to European football next season. Their Champions League adventure ended on Wednesday, but that will certainly inspire a push -up de la Liga table from their current position of 8th.

It has been a difficult season for Girona, who have had difficulty balancing domestic and European football. Their only focus, however, is now La Liga, and the idea is to add another player to the team – and as things are there, it seems that a midfielder is the one searched by head coach Michel Sanchez and Sporting Director Quique Carcel.

Girona has trouble filling the void left by Aleix Garcia, who came to Bayer Leverkusen last summer. However, their newest chase could remedy this, as Relevanto has reported that they are for Juventus -Midfielder Arthur Melo.

Arthur, who returned to Juventus in the summer after a loan movement to fellow Serie A Side Fiorentina, is not in the plans of head coach Thiago Motta, and that is reinforced by the fact that he does not have to appear this season. A departure is being sought, and at this stage Girona would be the leading candidates.

However, they are not alone, just as Santos Die confirmed the return of Neymar Junior on Thursday. Real Betis was also enthusiastic about the Brazilian, but they will no longer make a movement in the winter transfer window.

Arthur is familiar with Spanish football and spent two seasons in Barcelona between 2018 and 2020. He could now be set up for a return to Catalonia, and if he makes the switch to Girona, it can be a very good arrangement for all involved.
