The transfer window of January was quite advanced in 2025, with Premier League parties that have spent around £ 250 million so far – a grim decline compared to the more than £ 700 million that they separated in 2023.

When is deadline day?
Deadline Day is on Monday, February 3, 2025, which means that clubs actually have until the beginning of next month to complete deals. Although it may seem strange that the last day of the January window is only the following month, the decision was made to keep the closure and opening of the window in line with other top European competitions.
A statement from the Premier League in May is: “The winter window will open on Wednesday January 1, 2025 and closes at 23:00 GMT on Monday 3 February 2025.
“To guarantee harmonization with the major competitions in Europe, the final data was set after discussions with the EFL, DFL, Series A, La Liga and LFP, all of which will close their summer and winter windows on 30 August and 3 February respectively. “
When does the window close around Europe?
According to the above statement, most top European competitions – including the Serie A, the German Bundesliga of Italy A and the Spain La Liga, all on Monday 3 February. Certain windows, however, remain open after this date. The Deadline of Turkey is the following week and their clubs can still register players until 11 February.
Some other windows are also closed earlier, because Saudi Arabic clubs only had until January 30 to get potential deals over the line. The Ladies Super League and the women's championship also had until Thursday 30 January, to complete their deals and had to do this at 11 p.m. GMT.
Can clubs sign players or free agents after the deadline?
If the deadline is missed, clubs can still sign players. However, a player cannot be registered by his new club until the window is opened again. In addition, clubs in the Premier League have submitted a deal sheet before 11 p.m., they have two extra hours to complete and register a new signing.
If a player is a free agent and is currently not contracted at another club, he can draw for each team at any time and they are not influenced by the transfer deadline.
