Dutch legend slams Henderson for his shocking demand to QUIT Ajax to join Monaco

Jordan Henderson was told to be 'a man' and about his attempt to leave Ajax after he was stripped of the captain because he tried to force a move.

Henderson, 34, was punished by Baas Francesco Faroli prior to the victory from his side on Galatasaray in the Europa League, after reporting the club with an ultimatum after he had agreed to join Monaco.

According to De Telegraaf, he told Ajax that he had to leave for free or that he would not play for them again, even though he was under contract until 2026.

Instead of admitting his wishes, however, the hierarchy grooved their feet and removed Henderson's bracelet only a few hours before yesterday's game.

Henderson was mentioned in the starting XI and played 77 minutes before he was replaced, but goalkeeper Remko Pasveer shipped on the side instead.

Wesley Sneijder responded last night on the Public Fallout Live on TV and encouraged Henderson to 'come in front of the camera' to tackle the unbridled speculation.

Ziggo Sport presenter Helene Hendriks told Sneijder and colleague guest Frank de Boer that Henderson and Ajax technical director Alex Kroes were asked for an interview.

'Henderson does not have to appear in front of the camera for the match. He can simply concentrate on the competition and then appear in front of the camera, “said De Boer.

“I understand Pasveer. He has to do it, but this is nonsense. Henderson has other things in his head and makes no sense to respond. '

Sneijder then replied: 'Don't be that difficult. You just play that match with the bracelet and then you say, “Yes guys, I don't know yet.”

'Something is wrong here. We will see what will happen tomorrow.

“Be a man and get up. At the moment you get all this speculation and you make unrest. It could have been much quieter if he had just worn the bracelet. '

“I think it's very strange,” Sneijder added. “I don't think UEFA had discovered it.”

'So there must have been a kind of switch at the last minute. That raises questions. I don't know if we will hear a statement from Francesco Farioli, because he will probably not answer. But I think it's strange.

“I think if you choose another captain, your Henderson wouldn't have to.”

Henderson enjoyed a trophy-loaded 12-year spell in Liverpool and won both the Premier League and the Champions League as a club captain, before completing a move to Al-Intifaq in Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2023.

But only six months later he sealed a return to Europe with Ajax.

He has made 44 performances for the club so far, scored no goals and got the bracelet of the captain only a matter of weeks after becoming a member.
