Tottenham and Bayern Munich have reached a verbal agreement on a transfer of £ 50 million for Mathys Tel.
However, the player has not yet made a final decision on whether he will accept the supply of Spurs.
He also did not decide whether he wants to go on loan or permanent, because he was previously determined to break through in Bayern.
Spurs are confronted with rival interest in tel of the Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli, which are managed by the German Matthias Jaissle.
Manchester United has asked preliminary questions about Bayern Munich Forward Mathys Tel. However, every potential deal is probably dependent on departure at Old Trafford.
Chelsea and Aston Villa also remain interested in Tel.
But Spurs hope that more regular playing time will convince him to join them about others.
For £ 50 million he would become the most expensive sale of Bayern ever.
Stade Rennais – former Club of Tel – have part of the sale in the region from 10 to 15 percent.
Analysis: Why Tel was asked
Nick Wright from Sky Sports:
This season has been a peripheral figure for Bayern Munich and only played 344 minutes in their Bundesliga and Champions League campaigns without scoring. But at the age of 19 he remains an exciting talent with a lot to offer and a lot of room for improvement.
He demonstrated his immense potential last season, wore nine goals and six assists in the Bundesliga and Champions League, despite usually as a replacement, and on average a striking 1.15 goal involvement per 90 minutes.
Context is of course important. Many of those replacement performances came to points in games where Bayern was already different goals. But his talent is not questioning. It is what Bayern convinced to pay around £ 23 million to land him at the age of only 17 in 2022.
Tel is fast, strong in the air and, crucial, an experienced finisher. His versatility is another asset.
As shown in the image above, the minutes of count at Bayern are divided over different positions. He played most of the minutes on the left, where he can cut on his right foot. But he is also skilled with his left foot and was also used on the right, as a central striker, and even in midfield.
He should of course adapt to a new environment in the Premier League. Walking the ground would be a challenge in the middle season. But it is easy to understand the interest, even if he did not get cheaply on each side to permanently sign it.
'Count a great character, but he needs minutes'
Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg:
“He is a great character. He is 19 years old, but he learned to speak German very quickly and very well.
“The fans love him. He is always friendly. He says hello to everyone who works in the club and on the training field, and with every fan.
“The fans cannot understand why he would leave Bayern, but there is an understanding of the fact that he regularly needs playing time.
“He is a fantastic guy, broad -minded and always smiling, but he now has to choose the right club because this is a very important step in his career.
“He is not a regular player at Bayern. He is far away. Now he has to win minutes.”
