Chelsea has joined the growing contingent of clubs that Evan Ferguson follow before Monday's Transfer Deadline.

The Brighton striker, 20, is expected to get the green light to continue for next week, although it is still to be seen whether such a movement will be permanent or a loan.

Chelsea, among others, are long -term admirers of Ferguson, who is generally considered one of the best young strikers of the Premier League. However, he has found the first team of opportunities to find this season hard to find after repairing an ankle injury.

It is now clear that Brighton is ready to sell or borrow Ferguson, depending on what offers between now and Monday evening – and it seems that Chelsea could be willing to join others.

The blues interest is confirmed by The Guardian, but it is explained that it is currently unclear whether or not they would be interested in a permanent deal or a temporary one.

The person who lands Ferguson before the transfer star closes on Monday evening will have to beat the fierce competition of clubs in the Premier League and from further away given the considerable interest in rush hour.

Arsenal and Tottenham are both credited with an interest in the Republic of Ireland star, just like West Ham. In terms of European interest, Bayer Leverkusen was considered in pole position to sign Ferguson, although Al-Nassr's decision to conclude a movement for Victor Boniface means that their position in a deal for the Brighton-Man now unclear means is.

Brighton -Baas Fabian Hurzeler opened the door for Ferguson to leave earlier this month, although it has since been stated that the seagulls would be considered to sell their Academy Star for the right price.

“We will negotiate what is important to him, which is important for his development, where he can best improve and then we will make the decision together,” Hurzeler explained when he was questioned about speculation about the future of the striker.

“This decision should be what is best for the player and for the club. For example, we sent (facundo) Buonanotte to Leicester.”
