Real Madrid increasingly confident of having key player back for Liverpool clash
On Wednesday, Real Madrid faces the toughest test yet in this season's Champions League: Liverpool away. Carlo Ancelotti's side have already lost two games in the league stage, and another defeat could be very damaging to their hopes of rising in the standings.
As things stand, Ancelotti will have to rely on rookie defender Raul Asencio for the match due to injuries to David Alaba, Eder Militao and Aurelien Tchouameni. However, the latter is doing everything he can to be available for the trip to Merseyside, and Diario AS say there is growing confidence that he will be fit.
Tchouameni was expected to be out for a month when he injured his ankle against AC Milan earlier in November, but if he returns for the match against Liverpool it would have been just 22 days. While it is good news for Real Madrid, there is undoubtedly an increased risk of injuries – although there is little they can do about it due to their defensive crisis.
