UFC Middleweight Champion Dric Du Plessis has sacrificed an important time in his life to fight twice against Sean Strickland.
Dricus Du Plessis will be confronted with Sean Strickland in a long -awaited middleweight title Rematch in the UFC 312 Main Event next weekend in Australia. He will return to defend the belt against the man he has defeated for UFC 297 last year.
Du Plessis rode in a new era in the middleweight division when he finished Israel Adesanya in his last fight on UFC 305. Only a few months later he will be confronted against Strickland in a Rematch after the former title holder Paulo Costa had beat UFC 302 last year .
While Du Plessis is laser -oriented on it possible to beat Strickland again and put their rivalry on the shelf, he misses a much needed family time in the process.

Dricus Du Plessis missed two Christmas holidays because of Sean Strickland -Camps
In a recent interview with Shakiel Mahjouri from CBS Sports, Du Plessis revealed the sacrifices he made for his two middleweight title fights with Strickland.
“As a Christian man, last year … I didn't have Christmas. No vacation with the family after having spent the whole year with fighting, “said Du Plessis. “The last two weeks of the year are always dedicated to my family during Christmas … Then this year fight in February, you are in the middle of your training camp and you can't really spend that time with family. I know there are many fighters who are not a Christian who don't celebrate Christmas, I just thought it would be more logical to have them fight in January or February. That was the only thing I was like “Ah, I had to do this again!”
“Now everyone also has priorities with families, and everyone had to cancel again with families to train … It requires a lot of your teammates and coaches, and that is the only thing I thought was that there should be some changes in that. “
The first fight by Du Plessis and Strickland contained a wild structure. This included a crowd fighter party, a dark press conference before the fight and Jabs back and forth between the two parties.
In the midst of their rivalry, Du Plessis Quality Time sacrificed with his family to face Strickland in the Octagon. But he chose to draw on the dotted line and to fulfill his duties as a UFC title holder.
