Why isn’t Christian Pulisic playing for AC Milan against Juventus in Serie A?
USMNT star Pulisic has been one of Milan's best players this season but was left out of the line-up against Juve.
AC Milan take on Juventus in a heavyweight match in the Italian Serie A on Saturday, but USMNT Christian Pulisic has, at least from the start, a waiting list for the match at San Siro.
There is strong American interest in the match, with Yunus Musah also on the Milan roster, while Weston McKennie and Tim Weah are part of the Juventus squad.
However, Musah and McKennie were the only two of the quartet named in the starting line-up, with Pulisic and Weah hoping to influence the game later from the bench.
Pulisic has been one of the Rossoneri's best players so far this season, which would normally make his omission from the starting line-up a big surprise. However, Italian media reported that he had missed parts of training after returning from the Stars and Stripes' CONCACAF Nations League win over Jamaica, reporting that he was “not at his best” and may not be available to play.
Ultimately, 'Captain America' was only deemed fit enough for a place on the bench. Milan and USMNT fans will be hoping to catch a glimpse of the in-form striker as the game progresses.
