Marcus Rashford to complete transfer on Sunday despite mixed messages from clubs

Aston Villa is putting the finishing touches on a sensational loan stop for Marcus Rashford.

The Manchester United attacker will undergo a medical on Sunday prior to a temporary move to Villa Park. The troubled former English AAS connects itself until the end of the season after the contractual details in the last 24 hours.

Villa expects Rashford to complete the paperwork today – and then he will commit his immediate future at the Birmingham club. The conversations were accelerated after Jhon Duran had joined Saudi-side Al-Nassr for £ 77.5 million, so that the Champions League qualifications had enough money to spend on the wage of the striker.

Briefings from both clubs have clarified little with the official line of the sellers that Villa pays most of its £ 315,000 a week. But his new club insists that that is not the case and that they will certainly not go that far.

Immediately asked for Rashford, Villa Boss Unai Emery would not tackle the situation after the game. However, he said: “We will see it because we are working on different players.

“I don't know exactly how we will end with the players we want.”

However, what is not in dispute is that this will be a new start for the 27-year-old, who has left Old Trafford under a cloud after his dedication and work ethic were questioned by Baas Ruben Amorim. And it is possible that Rashford eventually leaves forever, because Villa has an option to buy – it is not an obligation at the end of the season.

Emery both needs a back -up of wide – where Rashford normally works – and through the middle. He needs insurance if no. 1 striker Ollie Watkins absorbs an injury – as happened in Molineux last night when the English international was replaced by a Liesstam.

Villa's boss said: “Watkins has been consistent and plays matches. He has been strong in recovering. He was injured – and hopefully it was small.

“But the idea is to replace Jhon Duran with another striker. We work to get a number of players with us on Monday, because we have to replace Diego Carlos. We must replace EMI Buendia.

“It is very difficult because we do not want to replace them by players who will not help us the way I want. We must be very demanding and intelligent. '
