Aston Villa expects to sign various players before the transfer window closes, says Unai Emery.
Emery, however, would not be drawn on the commentary on the status of a loan movement for Marcus Rashford of Manchester United.
England International Rashford is said to be close to the sealing of Villa for the rest of the season.
And although Emery would not confirm whether a deal for Rashford is in the making, he repeated his wish to see more players sign for Villa after the departure of Diego Carlos, Emiliano Buendia and Jhon Duran, who had scored seven Premier League goals in Just 626 minutes action before he completed a move to Al-Nassr this week.
“We work to try to get a number of players with us on Sunday or Monday,” Emery told Wolves after the 2-0 loss, in which Villa Ollie Watkins lost due to injury.
“It's not easy because we don't want to replace players who won't help us the way I want.
“We are very demanding [but] We must be intelligent.
“Signing a striker is not easy. We have versatile players and usually Watkins has been consistent, playing matches.
“He is strong in repairing and playing matches for a week, two or three games.
“Today he was injured, hopefully it is small. The idea is to replace Duran with another striker. If we can find a player to help at the level we want, we will do, but we have versatile players.
“We have to compete and try to get the level that we want with the players we have and I think we will add two or three players.”
Emery's expansion of Watkins said: “I changed him because he felt a little pain in his muscle. Hopefully we will test him and check him and it won't be something [serious]. “
Villa was the second best against Wolves, who broke a four-game series in the Premier League.
Donyell Malen, however, had a goal to deal with an offside by Morgan Rogers.
The VAR considered Rogers to interfere with the game.
“It is a VAR task, I believe in VAR,” said Emery. “But sometimes I think they make mistakes.”
