Aston Villa agree to sign former Real Madrid star Marco Asensio on loan from PSG until the end of the season

Aston Villa has agreed to sign Marco Asensio of French champions PSG on loan until the end of the season.

The 29-year-old Spain International is currently under contract with the Parisians until June 2026.

He has been in PSG since July 2023 when he arrived from Real Madrid.

Asensio has scored seven goals in 47 performances for the Ligue 1club, after he has scored 61 times in 286 outings for his former side. However, he has been an unused replacement in three of the last four games and PSG is prepared to load him this winter, after offering him to several potential lovers.

Villa is desperate to strengthen their attack after the departure of top scorer Jhon Duran to Al Nassr for £ 65 million.

After the 2-0 defeat on Saturday evening by Wolves, Unai Emery insisted that his team had to make additions before the winter transfer window closes on Monday.

“We need some players,” he told the BBC Post Match. 'We have to replace some players who have left. Tomorrow and Monday are the last two days.

'I think we will get some players to help us, because we are in the Champions League for the last 16. We have to try to get points in the Premier League to be top eight, seven, six, five. “

In addition to Asensio, after signing the StillaWay Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, the Midlands Club will be on loan after signing.

The 27-year-old said goodbye to his Red Devils teammates on Saturday and spoke with staff and players in Carrington after he had received the green light for his loan switch to Villa Park.

Personal conditions have been agreed and the finer details of the conditions between clubs are smoothed out.

The international of England fell out of favor in his boys' club and may leave before the window closes. Rashford's wages of approximately £ 350,000 are good over the salary of the top earner of Villa, which is thought to be EMI Martinez.

It is understood that Villa will contribute 70 percent of Rashford's salary, which will include performance -based clauses. The agreement has also been established to include a purchase option at the end of the season.

Villa remains interested in Chelsea's Joao Felix, although they are confronted with competition from AC Milan, while Leon Bailey could leave, with United interested in a deal that is separated from the Rashford agreement.
