Rennes enter talks with Marseille for Ismaël Koné

According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Stade Rennais has undergone conversations with Olympique de Marseille for midfielder Ismaël Koné (22).

The Canadian international became the first signing in a summer recording for Les Phocéens when he left Watford FC for a reported reimbursement of € 12 million. He was soon followed by Lilian Brassier (25) who joined Marseille at Stade Brestois. In a turn of fate, Koné Bassier could follow while arriving in Rennes this winter.

Romano writes that Koné could arrive for a loan agreement such as Brassier, where Rennes sports director Frederic Massara insists on the transfer. Les Rouge et Noirs, however, are confronted with a competition for the former championship player. Fiorentina and Valencia are also interested in removing Koné van Marseille during the current transfer window.

Rennes who are 16th in the table, this window has been active as they look to strengthen their team and to escape a relegation struggle in which they went.
