Barcelona has not been able to sign someone during the winter transfer window, but plans are already being drawn up for the summer. The club expects to be busy in the market, after their return to the 1: 1 rule of La Liga earlier this month.
Sports director Deco is the person who will be in charge of Barcelona's transfer activities for the summer, and he is currently making planning. He agrees with head coach Hansi Flick that a new right back is needed, but it would be no surprise to be further defenders.
In recent months, Barcelona has worked at the end of the season on a deal for Jonathan Tah, who no longer has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen. The German central defender is sought by a whole series of clubs throughout Europe, but the Catalans have actively worked on an agreement.
However, Barcelona's interest in Tah has cooled down in recent weeks, after the decision of Ronald Arajo to make U-turn when looking for a departure. The Uruguayan International has also committed itself to a new five -year contract, although there are still opportunities to leave in the summer, because his release clause is quite affordable.
That is why Barcelona has not officially excluded the signing of tah, as reported by relevant. In addition, Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen have also been associated with movements away in the summer – respectively to Girona and the Premier League – so it may be that the Leverkusen -star is being pursued, even if Araujo is set up to at least 2026.
It will be interesting to follow the defensive situation in Barcelona in the summer. Tah would be a very solid addition, and it would be made better if Araujo were teammates, rather than the first to replace.
