Van Persie FUMES after his opponents are allowed to play with TWELVE MEN

Robin van Persie remained strange after his side played temporarily against 12 men in the Eredivisie.

The Heerenveen of the Dutchman was 2-1 at home against Fortuna Sittard in a collision in the mid-table on Saturday when the bizarre incident took place.

Fortuna Sittard made two more replacements with another minute on the clock, but one player was unable to leave the field – so they had an extra player on the field.

The visitors then had a corner to be matched in the 90th minute thanks to a header by defender Rodrigo Guth, who ensured that the points were shared.

And Van Persie closed the 'Scandalous' decision because his side missed the chance to jump their opponents in the Dutch top flight.

'Twelve against eleven. I did not know that it was allowed, but apparently it is: 'The former striker of Arsenal and Manchester United told ESPN.

'It can't be true that they play a minute with twelve men for that complicated and corner.

“I asked him if they should not do anything with it. For example, turn the goal. It can't be right. I think this is really outrageous.

'If they play with twelve men, we get a throw -in against us, so it certainly had an effect. Moreover, the rules state that it is eleven against eleven and not twelve against eleven. '

Levi Sman gave Van Persie's Heerenveen the lead after eight minutes, but Fortuna Sittard was on flat terms seven minutes later thanks to a penalty from Kristoffer Peterson.

Teen Eser Gurbuz finished Van Close-Range to place Heerenveen 2-1 with eight minutes to go for the late drama.

Van Persie was appointed head coach of Heerenveen last May and they suffered a poldering 9-1 defeat by AZ Alkmaar in his fourth game earlier this season.
