Jamie Carragher closed the standard of keepers in the Premier League after Brentford's own goal against Tottenham.
The bees fell on the back of an Ange Postecoglou in the Gtech Community Stadium when Vitaly Janelt changed the corner of son Heung-Min to his net.
Bees goalkeeper Hakon Valdimarsson, who came in for the wounded Mark Flekken, did not succeed in taking control in the box and the ball came from Janelt's back.
Carragher said on Sky Sports: 'I am actually the level of keepers in the Premier League as bad at the moment as it has been. I see so many goals entering.
'We are in an era the last two-three year where more goals have been scored than ever before. I feel that the level of keeper is a large part of it. '
The former Liverpool defender added: 'The starting position of the goalkeeper (Valdimarsson) is simply wrong. We now see this a lot, so many players in the six Yard Box.
'As a goalkeeper you really have to be on the other side of the attacking player. That is just a recipe for a disaster, its starting position. '
Micah Richards was also critical of the role of Brentford's keeper in the goal of Spurs just before half an hour.
He doesn't even look at the ball. He stands the other way, tries to stop Bissouma and does not realize that the ball comes in until it touches him, “said Richards.
“It's just a bad defense, the mix between defender and goalkeeper.”
Pape Matar Sarr later stabbed the ball home with three minutes left on the clock to achieve a 2-0 win for Spurs.
The side of Postrcoglou has risen to the 14th in the table, while Brentford remains 11th.
