Man United’s bid to sign Mathys Tel stalls with TWO loan bids rejected by Bayern

The bid from Manchester United to sign Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich is standing still after they had rejected two offers today.

Arsenal remains the background to sign the French international that Tottenham had rejected on Friday.

United was encouraged that the 19-year-old wanted to join them, but they have not been able to find a solution with Bayern about a loan agreement and payment conditions and a resolution is now considered 'unlikely'.

United is interested in Chelsea's Christopher Nunku, but that is also considered difficult at this stage and other options are being investigated.

United, who has agreed to allow Marcus Rashford to use Aston Villa with an option of £ 40 million to buy, had previously excluded a proposed step for Leon Bailey from Villa.

Tel was the core of one of the most striking sagas of the January transfer window, with a large number of Premier League parties among the clubs to have inquired about the £ 50 million Frenchman.

Tottenham -President Daniel Levy was reportedly in Bavaria to 'accelerate conversations' for the French international, wanted to move forward while other Premier League outfits breathed in their necks.

The decision comes after the technical director of Spurs, Johan Lange, had traveled to Munich on Wednesday to watch Tel Play for Bayern in their Champions League victory in Slovan Bratislava, where he opened negotiations.

The playing time has been crucial for count in determining his next employer, with his decision to name it at Bayern who fell out of grace under manager Vincent Kompany.

United seems to be able to offer this, anticipating the upcoming rooms of Rashford and possibly Alejandro Garnacho for tomorrow's deadline.

Firepower in front also remains a problem for Ruben Amorim, who was awakened during his early Stint at Old Trafford with two relics of the Erik ten Hag regime.

Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund both stayed on the bench for the 2-0 home defeat of United against Crystal Palace on Sunday – so that Amorim chose to serve Kobbie Mainoo as a false nine.

If Tel were to sign, it would probably send the forward couple further down in the pecking order – but with negotiations that block between United and Bayern, a transfer now seems more and more unlikely.

Tel has scored 16 goals in his first 83 performances for the Bundesliga Giants, but spent a lot of time on the couch.
