Conceicao: Milan derby draw is a fair result

Sergio Conukicao admitted that the 1-1 Draw AC Milan with Inter on Sunday was the fairest result after the deceased equalizer of Stefan de Vrij.

Milan had a third derby victory of the season firmly in their grip, with Concuyo lifting the Supercoppa Italiana after their rivals in his second game last month, before he admits the 93rd minute equalizer to refuse a hat trick of victories .

Inter had pressed the game and saw three goals not allowed while they also hit the woodwork three times before they finally found their breakthrough.

It was the first time that the Milan Derby ended in a draw since March 2022, when the sides played a scoreless stalemate in the first stage of the semi-final of Coppa Italia.

Milan has now only won one of their last 10 home games against Inter in all competitions (D4 L5), but Conceicao admitted that Inter did not deserve to leave empty -handed.

“We put the field on the field that we wanted, interwit interwit very well and create many difficulties for the opponents, it was important to curb their strengths and exploit some weaknesses,” Conceicao told Sky Sports.

“In the end it is clear that we are disappointed, because we have lost two points, but we saw all the joy they showed at the end. I think the draw is fair, but of course mistakes are paid.

“I think the next game, with the transfer market, we will face it more quietly with our heads and we can start again for four strong months.”

Milan, who remains eighth in Serie A, has now only lost one of their last six league games, while this result was an improvement in relation to their shock destruction for Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Despite Milan's performance against the defending champion, the manager still sees room for improvement, and Concukicao spoke about what he wants to teach his team.

“On a mental level, to have consistency. It is not negotiable, if there is no desire to play football, something is wrong,” he said.

“At a tactical level of tactical and play dynamics, some things are missing. We tried to press a little higher and let holes in our midfield, which I don't want.

“In my opinion, the defensive phase is connected to the attacking, if you attack well and take the space well, you are willing to respond when you lose the ball.”
