Marcus Rashford has made a statement on Instagram after completing his loan movement from Manchester United to Aston Villa.
The International England indicated that he was happy to be a new challenge after having spent his entire career at United. A number of clubs are connected to the 27-year-old, but in the end it is villa that has a deal over the line.
“I want to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for the fact that this loan dealed deal,” wrote the attacker. I was lucky that a few clubs approached me, but Aston Villa was an easy decision – I really admire the way Aston Villa played this season, and the ambitions of the managers.
“I just want to play football and I am excited to start. I wish everyone at Manchester United the very best for the rest of the season.”
Rashford had scored seven goals this period in 24 United performances before completing his exit. That count included the first goal of the Ruben Amorim era, but the head coach of United has decided that he can end the season without the Academy graduate.
De Voorwartse moves to Villa Park only a few days after the exit of Jhon Duran. Colombia striker Duran completed a major movement to Al-Nassr, where Villa was also confronted in the window with bids for his fellow frontman Ollie Watkins.
Villa Boss Unai Emery will have to decide whether Rashford should hand over an immediate debut in the FA Cup fourth round match against Tottenham. The new arrival is not cup-bound, after he has served the third round of United against Arsenal, but he has a shortage of competition exercise after more than a month without playing for his parent club.
Both United and Villa lost this weekend and fall short against Crystal Palace and Wolves respectively. Speaking at the defeat of United, the former club captain Gary Neville gave some advice to the departing Rashford.
“It had to happen. He had to leave the club,” Neville said on Sky Sports. “He has been battered by his manager in recent weeks. The most important thing is the most important thing. That is the only person who matters is your coach. Some statements by Ruben Amorim have been brutal.
“Saying emphasizing that he doesn't want it. Go to Villa, there are a number of things in his favor. He goes to a much better team, he goes to a coach who is of world class, which is a real chance for him.
“I think it is under pressure on Marcus to perform for Unai Emery, because if you don't play for him, Unai Emery can't be the problem for Marcus Rashford, he has to play well for him. The style villa can suit Marcus also.
“Perhaps the Spolight won't be as much on him as at United. But there will be a lot of attention. They still have a lot to play for villa and it's a real chance for Marcus. The last thing Marcus has someone who says” go outside and enjoy yourself '.
