Ajax captain Jordan Henderson collided with a Dutch journalist in a remarkable exchange at a press conference after Sunday's 2-1 victory over Feyenoord.
The game itself was quite dramatic, with Kenneth Taylor scored a 94th minute's winner. However, the real fireworks came later.
Henderson – who had played the full 90 minutes – had a problem with one journalist because he had asked him to work out recent reports he had tried by forcing a move to Monaco.
Earlier in the week it was reported that Henderson had threatened to refuse for the club if Ajax did not agree with a deal with the French Ligue 1 -outfit.
The story took a new turn on Thursday evening when Henderson played 77 minutes in the 2-1 victory of Ajax over Galatasaray in the Europa League – but not as a captain. However, he wore the bracelet of the captain on Sunday again.
After Sunday's game, Henderson faced the media and it really became Frosty, very quickly.
Henderson was asked: “Can you say, Jordan, why you wanted to switch to Monaco?”
After he had stared back to the journalist, a worse Henderson replied: “Based on what, again?”
Henderson and the reporter then went back and forth for almost two minutes, in which the ex-England star said that he had told the coach that he wanted to leave because Monaco had made him a 'large selection', 'not true' were.
At the end of the press conference, Henderson gave a challenging speech.
He said: 'There are people in this room who questioned my professionalism, it has been brought out of order. My family had to read nonsense from you. '
