Manchester United-wing player Jadon Sancho sent a message of support to Marcus Rashford after he saw his former Manchester United teammate connect with Aston Villa on loan.
Rashford has followed Sancho when completing a temporary switch from Old Trafford, although the movement of the latter is expected to become permanent. Sanchos joined Chelsea on a seasonal loan at the end of the summer transfer window, and are almost certain to activate a permanent movement at the end of the season.
After Rashford had confirmed his villa switch in an Instagram post, Sancho was one of the first to send a message as an answer. “He is back”, was the simple reaction of the winger to his colleague international in England.
A number of other united stars in the past and present were also spotted in the commentary section. “All the best results,” wrote Alejandro Garnaacho, where Luke Shaw wrote “Good Luck My Bro” and Scott McTominay also share a happiness message.
Rashford indicated in December that he wanted a new challenge, but had to wait until the last days of the window to get his move. Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund were also connected to a dive, but instead he stays in the Premier Leagie with Villa.
“I want to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for the fact that this loan dealed deal,” wrote the 27-year-old. “I was lucky that a few clubs approached me, but Aston Villa was an easy decision – I really admire the way Aston Villa played this season, and the ambitions of the managers.
“I just want to play football and I am excited to start. I wish everyone at Manchester United the very best for the rest of the season.”
Rashford has not played senior football since 12 December when he was part of the United side that worked for a victory in the Europa League at Viktoria Plzen. Although he may need some time to get to the full speed, the situation of Villa could be seen in action earlier than planned.
The side of Unai Emery allowed Jhon Duran to join Al-Nassr in a permanent deal before the Saudi transfer window was closed, and the first-choice striker-striker Ollie Watkins only succeeded against Wolves on Saturday. Watkins has indicated that he wants to stay, despite Arsenal's interest, but his willingness for the upcoming FA Cup match against Tottenham is uncertain.
“I changed him because he felt a little pain in his muscle,” said manager Emery on Saturday after withdrawing Watkins during the break in Molineux. “Hopefully we will test and judge him tomorrow and it will be nothing important. I have changed it through it.”
January -Donyell Malen came from the bank on Saturday and had rejected a goal controversially, but the sale of Duran and the potential absence of Watkins leaves Villa Light in Attack. It is still to be seen whether Rashford is already in shape for an extensive run-out.
