Luis Enrique overloaded praise over Paris Saint-Germain Forward Ousmane Dembele after the Frenchman won back-to-back hattricks for his team last week.
Last Wednesday, Dembele yielded a Treble in PSG's 4-1 win over Stuttgart in the Champions League and earned his side a place in the play-off round of the competition.
He became the fifth player who scored three goals for the Parisiens in the Champions League, while it was only the second hat trick of his professional career, 3251 days since his first for Rennes against Nantes in Ligue 1 in March 2016.
The 27-year-old on Saturday succeeded his midweek Hattrick with another against Brest and brought his total to 14 goals in Ligue 1 in 2024-25, his highest count in one season in the top five European competitions.
It was also his 11th strike in all matches in 2025, most player in the top five European competitions this year, which PSG helped to keep their 10 -point lead on the top of Ligue 1.
Since the switch to the Parc des Princes from Barcelona in August 2023, Dembele has scored 25 goals and registered 19 assists in all competitions, only managing more target involvement during his time at the Blaugrana (83 – 40 goals and 43 assists).
“Dembele? Another player,” said Luis Enrique reporters prior to the last 16 French cup match on the third French side Le Mans. “Ousmane has always been another player, regardless of his position.
“He can dribble two or three players, make decisive passes and score goals. Our goal with him has always been the same. He is a player who makes a difference …
“To be a PSG player, you must be prepared for such situations. That is why we consider it a team sport and within the team everything is easier to live with.”
In anticipation of Le Mans, Luis Enrique was also able to give an update about the injury of Joao Neves that he had arrested against Stuttgart in the Champions League.
After Neves received an assist for Dembele's second goal against the Bundesliga side, he was replaced by Senny Mayulu in the 77th minute after a challenge after a challenge in midfield.
“There is no injury, it is only the calendar and the intensity of the games that meant that he has been a bit tighter, but he has no major injuries. We just have to control the workload,” said the Spaniard.
Luis Enrique also expected that no further transfer activity would take place during the window in January prior to the Deadline of Monday.
PSG welcomed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli last month as their only addition to the team, while Xavi Simons could also complete a permanent move to RB Leipzig, after he had spent the past 18 months on loan at the Bundesliga Club.
“I am still satisfied. Sometimes you may think that there is no room for everyone, but since last season we have improved the team, and we have achieved something that is vital, namely competition,” said Luis Enrique.
