Aston Villa has confirmed the arrival of the three-male League winner Marco Asensio from Paris Saint-Germain on loan for the rest of the 2024-25 season.
Asensio is Una Emery's fourth signature of the January window, after he has already welcomed Marcus Rashford, Donyell and Andres Garcia in Villa Park.
The 29-year-old arrives in the club with great pedigree, after he has lifted 20 major awards during his career, which includes three LaLiga titles during his time at Real Madrid.
Asensio made 286 performances in all competitions for Los Blancos, scored 61 goals and registered 32 assists before switching to PSG in 2023.
The Spaniard missed the start of the 2023-24 campaign with a foot injury, but went on 31 times under Luis Enrique, but has struggled this term for Game Time.
Asensio has only made 12 gigs in Ligue 1 this season, of which eight have been from the start, but he has only had 18 minutes of competition since November.
Villa is said to be the wages of the 29-year-old cover, but has no option to make the move permanent as soon as it runs at the end of the campaign.
Asensio could make his debut on Sunday in Villas FA Cup collision against Tottenham, with his potential opponents of Ipswich in his Premier League arch.
