Revealed: Glazers pull out of audacious bid to buy Hundred cricket team

The Glazer family – majority owners of Manchester United – stepped away from making what would have been a huge controversial offer for an interest in Originals in Manchester, understands Mail Sport.

Earlier on Monday, RPSG group, owners of the richest club of the IPL, won the last auction and then took 71 percent of the old Trafford franchise to become the first external investor that has a majority share in a hundred outfit.

However, it can now be announced that the glazers, whose term of office has caused unrest, under performance and widespread fan protest at the other Old Trafford, have shown a sharp interest before they were warned of a movement by those close to the process.

The optics of such a bid – and the prospect of an immediate recoil of fans – were made clear to the group established in Florida, whose debt break, lever buy -out of United continues to arouse in anger for two decades.

United fans indeed often sing in protest against the glassers in competitions and the chance that such a movement caused further problems was made clear.
